Jennifer WILSON Obituary

Our beautiful Jennifer passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2023. We are heartbroken, and really appreciate family and friends who are wrapping around us at this time. Deeply loved wife and soulmate of Roger Wilson for 47 years; beloved mum of Rachel and Emily Sanson; loved step-mum of Selina Thacker, Vaughan, Adrian and Shane Wilson. Grandma, aunty, adopted 'mum' and dear friend to so so many. She touched many lives with her compassion, kindness and love. A service to celebrate Jennifer's life will be held at Nelson Cathedral, on Friday 4 August, 1pm. (A private family cremation will happen prior.) To honour Jennifer, donations can be made to support Jennifer's legacy, literacy and libraries in Cambodia (please email us for details, [email protected]); and to Cultural Conversations, www.culturalconversations.co.nz/donation Our deepest thanks to the dedicated paramedics and medical team at Nelson Hospital for their care of Jennifer.

Dear Roger and family
Please accept our condolences. Jenny was a very kind and gentle person. We very much enjoyed having her on our staff at Fitzroy. Teachers, parents and children appreciated her caring and giving nature. She will be well remembered by all who had contact with her.

Dear Rodger & Family
Sending condolences an love to you all.
Jenny was an amazing teacher to our children @ St Joseph Waitara, and I also worked at their property, helping with the export flower market. It was a privilege to get to know you both, and was inspired by Jenny´s love of giving to others.
Much Love & Respect The Haskell Whanau xx

Dearest Roger, Rachel, and everyone in the Sanson and Wilson families:

We are all very saddened and heartbroken by the sudden passing of our beloved Jennie. We would like to share our deepest condolences with Jennie's loved ones in Nelson and elsewhere. Jennie has been the most loving and kindest friend of our family in Cambodia ever since we got to know her three decades ago when she was working with VSA in Takeo in the mid to late 1990s. Since completing her VSA volunteer service, Jennie and Roger have returned to Cambodia almost every year for a visit and more volunteer work with The Books for Cambodia Foundation - helping to improve literacy among many families and children in rural Cambodia. Her kindest heart has touched many lives in Cambodia and other places she's been to. She is one of a kind, beautiful inside-out. How we wish she would stay with us much much longer. We will cherish all the beautiful memories we shared with her forever. She will be greatly missed by all of us. May she rest in eternal peace.

We hope all the families in Nelson find solace and strength in her loving memories.

With lots of love from all of us,
Siphen, Mach, SreyNoch, Savdar, Jonathan & the rest of the families in Cambodia and the US
