Ian RYDER Obituary

Jock, was a great mate of my father Vern Goodwin. They had many great weekends at our bach a Browns Beach Torrent Bay.

To dear Lorraine, Mel, Nathan & families. It was with great sadness that we learned of Ian's passing yesterday. We remember many a fun time we had whilst having lunch or dinner at the Punakaiki Tavern. Many, many a great great laugh, especially the night Ian showed our grand kids how he got the money on the ceiling (not sure Ian's way worked!!) but it was hysterical watching the kids trying 'the trick' with a rock!!! To Lorraine and family. So sad to hear of Ian's passing. Kim has fond memories of working at the Puni pub with you both. And I still remember enjoying a good feed of sausages and eggs. Thinking of you all at this sad time, Kim and Steve Burnett

Lorraine, my sincere condolences to you and family. I have fond memories of Ian from Nelson Harbour Board days, including playing pool and darts in the social club room and the social club event you and Ian went on too. Still have some pictures of you two on the bus.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Ian, he was my mentor as a young apprentice carpenter for a few years and he taught me a lot about being a decent person and standing up for myself. my most sincere sympathy to you Lorraine and family,I remember many happy times,one especially when you lived on the coast and a group of us stayed in your batch,what a time we had!

I've known Jock for roughly 42 odd years. My kids loved him to pieces as did I. He has always had a special place in my heart. My sincere condolences to Lorraine and all their family. Sleep well Jocky xxx
