Hazel ROLLINSON Obituary

Our mother passed away, peacefully, on September 17, 2025 at Ernest Rutherford Retirement Village. She was in her 100th year. Dearly loved wife of Lawrie (deceased). Loved mother and mother-in-law of Kay and Diane, Ann and Dave, and Peter (deceased). Nana to her four grandchildren and their partners. Great-nana to her nine great-grandchildren. Hazel was a resident at Ernest Rutherford Retirement Village for 17 years and over that time received wonderful care and attention. We thank them. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Shone and Shirley Chapel, 164 Tahunanui Drive, Nelson at 2.00pm. Friends and family only please. A private interment for Hazel and Lawrie's ashes will take place. In lieu of flowers donations to Starship Children's Hospital would be appreciated. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. Hazel (Aunty to me) was so very special and so upbeat! I always tried to visit when I came back to NZ from America. I was their flower girl also at their wedding. I will really miss her and the lovely cards she sent me over the years. Happy to know she is with Lawrie now and my Dad, Charlie Ford and her sisters, family and friends in Heaven! R.I.P.

Aunty Hazel was always a joy to be around, she was one of the few people who understood Scott's dry humour and could have a heated debate with him as well as a good laugh. Her sense of fun was always present and watching her have the staff come running when she pushed her alert button just because made for great entertainment (at least for us). She was always such a snazzy dresser and had her lippy on and I'll always be envious of her great sense of style. Love you so much and we will miss you . And you nearly made the 100, so you beat the rest of your siblings. Xoxoxo
