Gwenyth LOGAN Obituary

Passed away peacefully, after a life filled with music, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in Motueka; aged 95, surrounded by her family. An extraordinary pianist, wife of Irwin Logan, mother of Prue, Rennie and Joce. Mother-in-law to John, Karen and Mark. Grandmother of Rachael, Julia, Brigitte, Andrew and Imogen. Great-grandmother to Ella, Rosie, Logan, Cameron, Amalie, Esme, and Felix.

To the Logan Family. Please accept our sincere condolences on Gwenyth's passing. 61 years ago as a teenager I lived just a short distance from her Mosgiel home. I got to know Gwenyth and her late husband Dr Irwin Logan and their young family. I babysat the children, mowed lawns, and helped on Dr Logans small farms around the Taieri in the weekends. I will never forget listening to Gwenyth playing the piano whilst Dr Logan was building their house. What an exceptionally talented lady she was. I had the pleasure of rekindling the contact with Gwenyth again a few years ago in Nelson and enjoyed visiting her at Woodlands and talking over old times, which she did. June got to meet her on a number of occasions over the last few years also and shared her passion for quilting with Gwenyth.

Rest at peace Gwenyth.
