Grant MITCHELL Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Nelson Hospital on December 29, 2025, surrounded by family, aged 80 years. Beloved husband of Barbara. Much loved father and father-in-law of Naomi and Adam, and Alistair and Sarah. Cherished Poppa to Ellie and Maz, Chloe and Charlie. Loved son of the late Eric and Joan, and dear brother of Paul, Maree and Jean. Treasured member of the wider Grindle family.
A true mate and loyal friend to many.
A service to celebrate Grant's life will be held at 2.00pm on January 9, 2026 at the Tasman Bay Cruising Club, 11 Cross Quay, Nelson. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed via https://www.shoneandshirley.co.nz/tributes

I worked with Grant for over 11 years, he taught me many boatbuilbing and life skills and a great work ethic. He even saved my life, giving me CPR when I fell and hit my head at work... Cheers mate, glad you were there, what a legend! RIP Grant...
