Ethel HUGHES Obituary

Passed away at Jack Inglis Rest Home, Motueka, on October 31, 2024, 4 days short of her 92nd Birthday. Dearly loved wife of Arthur for 71 years. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Stephen and Lyn, Lauren and Bill, Grant and Julie. Proud Gran to 10 and Great-Gran to 14. As per Ethel's wishes a private family farewell has taken place.

I will always fondly remember Ethel (Mrs Hughes), from the first day young Steve introduced me to his parents, way back in late 1971, to the last time I'd seen them both in town, just before my reluctant departure in 1994...
I was also so pleased that Ethel got to know my Grandmother, Florence Newling... and I could obviously see why... they seemed so alike...
A wonderful and courageous lady, and I was blessed in early 2018, to once again see them both one last time, through what I'm convinced was divine intervention... it's a story on it's own...
My very sincere condolences to all the Hughes family...
