Eric LESTER Obituary

You were a challenge Eric, no 2 ways about it but a challenge that I loved every minute of. You lived an authentic life and never compromised your beliefs - no matter how weird or wonderful. From you I learned more about when to speak up and when to keep quiet. You were more enraptured with the gift of an icecream or pair of socks than you would have been with a new couch. You shared some very intimate details of your life but kept some really important issues private. You were a man of contradictions. You added to the rich tapestry of life and my life will be the poorer for your passing. At random moments a piece of Eric wisdom comes into my thoughts and I know that you are still pressing my buttons just for the hell of it. At other times I hear you shout "Brookes" and I know it is time to listen. Where ever you are I hope you are riding safely and have brakes on your bike.

One of the most interesting people I have ever had the privilege of meeting, your colorful friendly personality is going to be very much missed by many many Nelson people. RIP Eric, a truly great man

I'll miss your 25 years of quirky, always-cheerful wit from over the fence. You certainly added colour to the neighbourhood!
Rest in peace old fruit!
