Elly MAAS Obituary

Dear Roska,How can I forget the times that Elly and your family were involved in my and my family's life during the many decades shared in Nelson.It was with deep sadnest to discover that Elly had left Nelson with no imformation off how to keep in touch.So the news in paper came with regrets

I have the fondest memories of camping at Totaranui with Elly, Hans & Rozka. Her warmth, laughter & campfire bread are legendary. She was a close and supportive friend of my mother, Lily Faber and a strong caring presence in our Nelson Dutch community.

We're sad to hear of Elly's passing.She & her family were long-time friends of the Kolff family originally with Ma & Pa Kolff (Tora & Kes).And latterly with my partner Hein & me & sister Inez, especially with art.We loved working for/visiting Elly's cosy house in Shakespeare Walk & garden where we also shared many robust debates. There are years of memories of Ellie and Niels at the many Dutch family gatherings that were so important to us through out our childhood and beyond. Sincere condolences to you Roska and your family.

Very sorry to hear of Elly´s passing. Elly bought my shino
glazed pots from Nelsons first wood fired kiln in Mahana in 1976. We remained friends and loved seeing her when she visited.
