I first met Beth many years ago when she came to live in Picton with her mum not long after her husband had passed away, she would come around and have the occasional meal with us. Larry would talk about his interest in sailing and she wanted to see if she enjoyed it to which she became addicted We worked together for years at the Picton Supermarket,l introduced her to Queen Charlotte Lions where we started doing the buttonhole flowers for the cruise ships,Yvonne and Margaret were also members and to their credit it carried on through the Picton Flower ladies to which Beth was involved. I met Karen Beths lovely step daughter at the hospital on the Sunday before Beth passed away I´m so glad l got to see her and realised it was sadly her time to pass,Karen put a beautiful photo of Beth and lans lovely wedding which Larry and l were lucky to attend so Beth my final words to you sweetheart while l enjoy my tipple of Baileys l will miss you but life has been better for having known you xx

To Ian and Family, my sincere condolences on Beth's death. I only knew her thru the Picton Flower Ladies and we would more often than not end up sitting together as we made buttonholes. I will miss her presence, her soft spoken voice and the small memories she would share. I do hope each and everyone of you will find strength and courage in the memories you have and the stories you will share. Sadly I don't feel I know you all well enough to attend her funeral, and I will not invade you at this sad time but I will watch on line. She will be missed, may she rest in peace, her work on this earth is done. Love Marie Bowden
