Edith BANNAN Obituary

Born December 7, 1932 – it is with great sadness that Colleen and Peter share that our Mum, Edith passed away at the Ernest Rutherford Rest Home in Stoke, Nelson on March 8, 2024, in her 92nd year. Mum was an incredible woman who even in these last months showed us all what strength and resilience are. She has always been a model of unwavering love, determination and commitment. Edith is much loved and will be incredibly missed by Elaine, Florence, George, Kevin and all her extended family. She was a remarkable Grandmother to Andrew, Sophie, Florance and Oscar, and great-grandmother to Harriet and Teddy. Thanks to all those who have been such wonderful friends and supported Mum always, especially Val and Phil, Aileen and Denise. Thank you also to all those that cared for Mum, including Maria, and the staff at Ernest Rutherford Home. As Oscar rightly said "A trooper till the end" We are very proud of Mum and feel very fortunate for the life and support both Mum and Dad gave us. We will all miss your fantastic computer skills, messages, and photos, hearing from you. We will always remember your baking, and your beautiful garden. Now finally you get the rest you well deserve. Love from us all. As Edith wished, a private cremation has been held. No flowers on request but donations to Nelson Tasman Region Hospice would be appreciated and can be made at https://www.nelsonhospice.org.nz/support-hospice/donate-funds/ Messages c/- 4A Andrew Street, Stoke, Nelson 7011.
