Douglas Lawrence (Doug):
7.2.1928 - 19.8.2015
Passed away surrounded with loved family. Loved husband of Maureen Crawford, father of Jeanette, Ian, Peter, Bernard, the late Michael, Veronica (Millie), Pamela, father-in-law of Bryn, Barry, Shinyeong, and Bernadette, Poppa of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and Brian his grand dog. On your walk to your loved family and friends waiting for you in heaven, farewell till we meet again. The family would like to give Stillwater Gardens staff a big thank you for all the love and care given to our father. They have been family to Doug in the last 6.5 years he has stayed there. They have made him feel safe, secure, independent as much as possible and cared for. Thank you. A service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, William Street, Richmond, at 10am on Saturday, August 22, 2015, followed by an interment at Richmond Cemetery in the RSA area.

How well we remember Dougie from our Placemakers days at Tauranga & Mt. Maunganui.
He was an enthusiastic supporter of our social club and one of my endearing memories is of Dougie working though his lunch break so that he could knock off a half hour earlier to have a quick beer before catching his transport home! Any interhouse bowling competions he was always the first to get his name in.

To Maureen and family, So sad to hear of "Dougie's" passing. I'm sure Mum, Dad and Dougie will be trying to play cards and arguing about who's cheating in the next life. Thank you Dougie for being a wonderful next door neighbour and friend to Elaine and George Mansell, Greerton. Love from Cherie, Derek and family.
