David WALKER Obituary
WALKER, David Eric:Passed away suddenly at home in Christchurch, on July 28, 2022, aged 71. Dearly beloved son of Dorothy and the late Noel Walker and loved stepson of the late Bruce McManaway. Deeply loved husband of Wendy, and much loved father of Gwyneth and Lachlan; and Lois's daughters, Anika and Megan. Loved brother of Gillian, Nick and Karen, and uncle to David and Ben, and loved by his extended family and friends. Special thanks to the St John Paramedics, the staff at Moorhouse Medical, and the Christchurch Hospital specialists, nurses and countless others who have cared for David over the last 10-years. A private service will take place in Christchurch on Thursday, August 4. A memorial service to celebrate David's life will take place in Havelock, on Monday, August 8 at 2.00pm at The Captain's Daughter. My deepest sympathies to you, Wendy and Dave's fmaily and friends
We worked together at the NZ School of Fisheries (I started in 1995) and we were both hit with oral cancer.
There are still a couple of us left at NMIT maritime School whoworked with Dave and we will remember his time there appropriately.
