Dear Vanessa, Rebecca and Regan, and all the rest of his family I did not know. I was mortified to hear of Colin's life being snatched away so soon.
Colin was once a very dear friend and I have an assortment of photos that show some of Colin's many excellent qualities.
They illustrate them better than I could ever describe them so if one of you could contact me (029)1200439, I will send them to you in the hope they are of some comfort.

Still cannot believe it, Colin was an inspiration, albeit a rather mad one, who led by example & showed us all a clean pair of heels on many occasions. I learnt about travelling light to get the best times from you, always enjoyed catching up with the latest news at races, and we had the odd tussle along the way too (when I could keep with you for a bit!). RIP Colin, see you on the mountains in the sky mists...

Colin...i'm so happy you popped in to see me here at 'Windy Garden', by the sea in Marahau, on a gloriously sunny Sunday morning a few weeks ago after you had competed in the Abel Tasman run..i made you an espresso and we sat on my decking and traded stories and guffawed...as per usual, you ribbed me about looking too much like a native with all of my strange necklaces and i, in turn, marvelled at the intricate repair work in your tiny 'Star Moving' shorts that i think you basically lived in!! Dude they may have been small shorts, but i cannot think of another man big enough to fill them now...you were unique beyond description my friend...the thinking man's removalist...so intelligent...you constantly kept me on my toes with topical issues and a razor sharp wit and you NEVER allowed me to get away with embellishing a story, or opening a beer too early for that matter...at times you were simply hilarious..not many make me laugh like you did...with regard to your abrupt passing, it still feels like someone is playing a cruel joke on all of us...i'm gonna miss you bro...no one insulted me like you did! lol...to say i 'liked' you seems insufficient, so although i know you would be appalled, i just have to say, i loved you Colin and i can hear you even now replying, "Now stop that Tim!! I'm feeling bashful"...love and best wishes to all of your family and friends during this heart-breaking, yet surrealistic time X Your friend and former co-worker...Tim Mahon
