Bruce BYGATE Obituary

Group Captain (retired)

'An Officer and a Gentleman'

6.7.1936 - 4.10.2025

A pilot for 60 years, Bruce was a tall strong practical man who could build and fix anything. He was a proud man who would do anything for his family. He loved his grandchildren dearly and had a great relationship with each of them. He had strong views of the world and enjoyed many long conversations with anyone he met. He was a great diplomat and loyal to friends and his brothers.
Beloved husband, lover and friend of Rosemary. Very special father of Bridget, Tim and Simon. Father-in-law of Kevin, Theresa and Clare. Wonderful grandpa of Alice, James, Lucy, Jessica, Nicholas and their partners. Great-Grandpa of two little girls, Ellidy and Rennie. A huge thank you to the amazing staff at Ernest Rutherford Retirement Village Stoke, Nelson. A service will be held at Nelson Cathedral at a date to be announced.
