Bron MARRIS Obituary

MARRIS, Bron Sandra
(nee Prestidge):
Passed away in Nelson on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Loved wife of Ron Marris, beloved mother and mother-in-law of Brent and Kyleigh, Scott and Ryoko, and Katrina. Grandmother of Kohana and Kaho. Only daughter of the late Audrey (nee Cox) and Roy Prestidge. Together again. In accordance with Sandra's wishes a private cremation has been held. Messages to The Marris Family, c/- 41 Nile Street East, Nelson 7010.
Dear friends, I go but do not weep
I've lived my life so full, so deep
Throughout my life I gave my best
I earned my keep, I've earned my rest.
I never tried to be great or grand
I tried to be a helping hand
If I helped in a team, if I helped on my own
I was more then repaid by good friends I have known
And if I went the extra mile
I did it with pleasure, it was all worthwhile.
If I brightened your path then let it be
A small contribution from my loved ones and me
But mostly I cherished my family I knew
In a bond never ending, so precious, so true.
Now sadly I leave you and travel alone
Through the mystic veil to the great unknown
With such beautiful memories that forever will be
The way that I hope you'll remember me.

We admired and respected Sandra - she was the first woman Court Registrar in New Zealand and Captain of the NZ Basketball team. We are so sorry she has left us - the world was a better place for having her. Rest in Peace with Audrey and Roy.

Hello Ron & family.
I just happened to have a look at the Mail's death notices for the week; not something I usually do. Sandra's name leapt out at me. She was a great support for my research into the Williams family and willingly shared her material with me. I will miss her. Best wishes.

Dear Ron and family, Please accept my sincere sympathies at Sandra's death. I have fond memories of our respective interest in family history and Sandra bringing my attention - way back in 1973 - to the NZ Society of Genealogists.

Thank you to everyone who has come to see our family in the days after Mum's passing. We really appreciate that. It is especially good for Dad.

Mum will be missed by the many people through various walks of life that she has touched. To name just a few: school friends, basketball team mates, fellow historians, and close and extended family.

We will miss and love Mum/Grandma always,
Scott, Ryoko, Kohana and Kaho
