We feel so privileged to have known Brian. It was such an amazing experience to work with such a genuinely good man in the building of our home and to have the home we live in because of him and the team he lead.
He has left us such treasure in this world and showed us how to live and work honorably.
Helen and family we are deeply sorry for the pain of your loss.
We have been forever enriched by Brian and we just don't mean the house at Atawhai Drive.

To my best mate in those so early years now taken so young
Brian you were a great friend and neighbour, always there to walk to school with and hit the playground after. The many buildings of creaky collapsing tree houses, constant bmxing round Wakefield, rafting the mighty Waimea river on on a plank of wood and tire tubes, making home made bombs and generally tormenting Carol, Julie, Lynn, Grant and your amazing parents To you beautiful people I love and miss you so much and Helen so much love and sorrow for the loss of this great man.
I wish in my heart I could have said goodbye mate.
Onwards.

Our heartfelt condolences to Helen and Family, it was a pleasure to meet Brian on the building jobs he did when we all lived in Brightwater, and socially through friends and the kids and sport. He will be missed by so many.

Nora and I are so thankful we got to know and work with Brian and his team over the period they built our home in Atawhai, and so sad he has passed on far too soon. He made our build enjoyable, and his expert knowledge and craftsmanship made most obstacles disappear painlessly. I know those closest to him can look around the area and see the many projects he completed as a visible testament to the positive impact he had on so many people throughout the region. Our thoughts and condolences are with the family.

It is with great sadness that we are mourning the loss of Brian who left us on Sunday September 12, 2021. We have been privileged to have Brian in our Inwood family and the gap he has left is huge. Brian was our friend with his bursting sense of humour and passion to help us whenever needed.
Loyal husband to Helen Bashford (nee Inwood), Dad to Hayden and Taila, Tessa and Troy, Grandad to Alex. Very loved son-in-law of Vincent and Martha Inwood. Brother-in-law of Michelle and Kelvin Hardaker, Teresa and Dave Flowers, Scott and Tania Inwood. Uncle of Olivia, Caleb, Justin, Ana, Jack, Aimee and Izzy.

I am so sad for you Helen and you family that Brian has died. He really was the best builder I've ever had the pleasure of being involved with. And there were numerous projects each quite different each with their own challenges, but Brian worked out a way with his team to not only get things done, but done so very well. He was such a pleasure to work with. When he could of and should of blamed me for a difficulty he just quietly worked a way around problems and got things done. Ngaire talked about how brilliantly his team worked together, always seeming to be aware of what each other was doing and being right there when the other needed a hand, without having to be asked. Two new kindergartens, three new houses just recently an absolute credit to him and the team he led. I will miss his sense of irony and his craftsmanship. Go well Helen and family.

Is is with much sadness that we read of Rrian's passing. What a wonderful man he was and the best builder around and honest as the day is long. His passing has left a hole in our heart but we shall never forget. A lot of our house is now in memory of him. To Brian's whole family please accept our deepest sympathy.
