Bevan GIBBS Obituary

25.10.1943 – 16.05.2024

Bevan was a hardworking fisherman who lived his life by the sea. Bevan found peace and solitude in his garden. From the delicate rose to the thriving vegetable patch, taking quiet pride in the work of growing and providing. Though his final years were marked by illness and he often kept to himself, those who knew his ways understood the quiet strength of his spirit.

May he rest in peace.

His family, Michelle, Deanna, and Matthew, wish to honour him simply and sincerely, just as he would have wanted.

Rest in peace you old bugger and thanks for taking care of me with Val on and off over the years. I only caught up every 2-3 years as living in Wellington. Thanks, Donald.

It has now been 12 months since your passing but I do have many fond memories, being your sister.
My first would be, you at intermediate and I at kindergarten. Often you would come home from school for lunch and you would take me on your bike to the kind which was beside a church across from the park. Me in my black gym frock and red cardigan and you in your school uniform. My how proud of you I was.
Then you went farming down Durville Island and then bring a sheep dog home who had puppies. Then your boat building and off to sea you went.
You stood the test of the ocean and of time. Where did that time go? You will always be remembered as my hard working brother. Your lifes race has been run and had dealt the blows of life, So rest
in peace now, knowing michelle, Deanna and Matthew are incredible, I am so proud to be their auntie.
