On September 10, 2020, Barry sadly passed away at home, aged 77 years. Very much-loved husband and soulmate to Gill. Brother to Wendy Atkins, brother-in-law to Wendy and Brian, David and Liz, and Ted and Jen (UK).
He will be so Sadly Missed
A special thank you to all the emergency staff that attended to Barry. Messages may be addressed to the Atkins family, C/- 19 London Street, Christchurch 8013. A Celebration of Barry's life will be held in the St Francis Hall, Holy Trinity Avonside, 168 Stanmore Road, Avonside, Christchurch, on Friday, September 18, 2020, at 3.00pm.

We are so shocked and saddened to learn of Barry's passing, and extend to you Gill our very deepest sympathy. Great memories of you both whilst in Nelson and your generous contribution to the community through Lions and the Nelson Cathedral. Trees & shrubs planted on the banks of the Maitai adjacent to the Trafalgar St bridge was instigated by Barry.

My heart is breaking for you, Gill. I am so grateful you both came to Washington State to meet me after 40 years of friendship! We had so much fun and created a lifetime of memories in 2 days. Here is a picture of the three of us. The only one I have. May angels watch over you. I love you.
