I am saddened to hear of Andy´s passing - truly. This has come at an extended lateness which I am so sorry to hear. Andy was and will be in my life forever - he installed many attributes that remain. A great totara has fallen - mo ake tonu atu i aku whakairo, Pete

On behalf of the Brightwater Community Association, we extend our deepest condolences to you during this difficult time. Andy's passing has deeply saddened all of us who had the privilege of knowing him and witnessing his dedicated service to our community.

Andy's commitment and contributions to Brightwater were truly exceptional. His efforts, particularly in blessing the Brightwater Community ANZAC Stone, have left an indelible mark on our community. His passion for honoring our shared history and values through this meaningful project will be remembered and cherished by all.

Ramari and family. We were saddened to hear of Andy's passing recently. You were great neighbours way back 40 years ago when we lived in Stoke. We attended Andy's 40th birthday during that time. We will miss meeting Andy on the street and his engaging smile. A lovely gentle man.

Very sad to hear Andy passed away,condolences to Ramari and family

We have lost one of the kindest, loving, biggest personality who walked the streets of Golden Bay and Nelson District. As Kaumatua he lived up far and beyond his position and will be missed forever. I give my heartfelt condolences to my dear friend Ramaree and her beloved family. I am very sorry that I could not be there, but I am with you in my thoughts and heart.

Andy and Ramaree were neighbours of my Mum in Wainui Street, and they became good friends.
They were extremely kind to her as her health deteriorated, and Andy presided at her Memorial Service when she passed away.
He pulled it off with exactly the right mix of solemnity and humour.
They threw away the mold after they made Andy, a unique man.
It was an absolute privilege to have known him, (and help make a dent in his extensive Single Malt collection).

RIP Andy, you deserve it!

So sorry to hear of your passing. I remember you of times growing up in Takaka and your whanau, I loved seeing all the old secondhand treasures you had at the old theatre which is now the Wholemeal. My parents were Daisy and Reg Christensen.
