Alan HARWOOD Obituary
Alan Russell:
Peacefully on October 12, 2017, in Nelson, aged 83 years, after a long illness. Loved husband of Lyellene. Treasured and loved father of Kim and Rosemary, Scott and Marti, Tracy and Phil. Loved grandfather of Ellie, and Sam, six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff at Ernest Rutherford Rest Home, Stoke, for their wonderful care and support. Messages may be addressed to Lyellene and family at 2/27 Shelbourne Street, Nelson 7010. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Neurological Foundation of New Zealand would be appreciated and can be left at the service or posted to PO Box 110022, Auckland Hospital, Auckland 1148. A service to celebrate Alan's life will be held at Marsden House, 41 Nile Street, Nelson, on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 2.00pm.

While I might be a bit late with condolences Lyellene, I have only just found Alan's death notice. We did meet briefly on only a couple of occasions so I don't expect you to remember me. You and Alan were living in Silverstream in those days as was my family & myself. Alan employed me way back, to assist in public & government relations, all of which I enjoyed with Alan as my boss. We got on well together and connected pretty good with decision making. I enjoyed his company, and I like to think he enjoyed mine. Once retiring, I gather you both moved to Nelson, and Anne & I moved to Queensland. Please accept my sincere wishes for the future although without your loved one. I can understand because it has been 3 years since my dear Anne passed to the Lord. Roger Anderson.

My thoughts are with Alan Lynelle and the Family
Alan served AMP well during his time with the company and as an adviser I personally spent some memorable times at functions he hosted
I recently visited Bryan and Colleen Collins in Terrigal Au and we discussed those great days now past
