Dear Paul
I am so very sad. I knew you for such a short time yet you touched my heart with your openess and kindness. I think that you and I shared an ability to see past life's imposed conventions and to make space for possibilities! I wish that we had had more time. All my aroha

I grieve very much to hear at this late stage of Paul'd death. Paul had corresponded with me quite a lot over the years in his strange spidery script, and then in 2015 or 2016 he turned up at my church and came for several months, and then quite abruptly vanished., To hear that he died so sadly means that we grieve for the loss, but I am thankful that he was able to be himself with us, intense in his faith and in his bible interpretations, but always willing to take an original approach to issues.

It was a precious, priceless, privilege to listen to Paul Darroch's profound Biblical wisdom, Bible knowledge and Biblical zeal. He was consumed with passionate love for God. He will be sorely missed. One of his most frequently quoted verses in the past decade and a half or so that I recall most vividly now in this time of extreme shock and ineffable sadness when words fail me other than his own oft quoted verse, which was "The just shall live by faith." He has and had triumphant and victorious overcoming golden pure refined faith and Paul Darroch is the epitome of the virtues in 2nd Timothy chapters 2 and 4 which epitomise Paul Darroch's outstanding Christian foundation that he dug deep and built on The Rock.
The world is not worthy of him. There was no guile in him, and he was greater than Nathanael. "Greater works ye will do"
Well done, good and faithful servant

I went to school here in Nelson with Paul in the early 1970's. He was always a cheery chap; popular with other students and well liked by staff. I was saddened to hear of his death.
