Incredibly sad to hear of the passing of my old school mate Laurie. He was the nicest guy, always with a smile and often have us all in hysterics. It was great to catch up with him later on in life, taking my daughters to the wonderful bead shop. To his family, please accept my deepest condolences and best wishes. RIP good friend. David Carr

Dear Laurie,

One of my favourite clients to deal with for advertising. Such an awesome shop as well, I became a Bead Gallery fan.

You will be missed RIP

You didn't know us but we used to come into the shop and you helped us select what could go with what and always helped us put things together. You even us helped us put back our own bracelet and charged us $2 only. Nothing was too much trouble. We couldn't believe it when we read you had passed on. What a great loss. You were always so kind and caring. Love to your family- Lois and Hieu from Nelson.

Michelle I was incredibly sad to read the Laurie has gone. It is so hard to believe that he will not be there when I go looking for the beads I need. he came to talk to the Embroiderers' Guild when he had just the boards in the market. It was great to watch the Bead Gallery come into being and grow. He will be really missed. Please accept my sincere condolences and best wishes. Paula, Martin and Andrew Hucklesby.

A special person, a communities loss.
From the days up the (Brook) valley spent round the camp pool, through the school years and each of us off to live our own lives. We didn't stay close in our lives but our memories are always near.
Laurie, you were a colorful character with your own path to follow, and you followed it well, a heart of gold as big as the ocean and a smile that touched so many.
Rest easy Laurie, stretch those wings.
