I go back to the Ralfe Ralfe and Boyle days where I was a very young secretary when Des arrived on the scene in Nelson. I, along with my coworkers admired and respected Des and I would like to send my heartfelt sympathy to the family. RIP. Judy Sunnex now of Sydney Australia

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there is a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

A dear friend of mine and my parents (Colin and Colleen Hughes). I loved his sense of humour, his impressive knowledge and his kindness and always enjoyed time spent with him. I will remember Des always. Shelley
