Buster was quiet and unassuming in his own way, but a highly intelligent and original thinker and problem solver. He was a very clever inventor & many will remember inventions such as his motorised rotary clothes lines, children's rides, lemonade bottle rocket launcher to name but a few. Thankyou to Buster & Marion & the Stringer family for the very loyal friendship shown to Claire and the late Brian Higgins and family. Friendship never to be forgotten. Brent Higgins

Our sincere condolences to the Stinger family on the passing of Buster an all round great man also a foundation member of the Wakefield Volunteer Fire Brigade. A lot of those no longer children will remember Buster from their rides on the Merry Go Round he built and operated for many years for the fire Brigade.

We were very sad to see that Buster has passed away. It was with great pleasure that we hosted Buster for a day in the forest last year and shared a lot of his memories with him. Our condolences to the Stringer family, but what wonderful memories you have of a father who lived his life to the fullest. Kindest regards. Andrew Karalus and Bim Rogers - Nelson Forests Ltd

STRINGER,
Clive Alan (Buster):
26.5.1923 — 5.8.2017
Some say a mighty oak has fallen, but we know that isn’t true,
For in our memories that oak forever tall is you.
And like the boyhood oak you planted, growing true and strong,
The seed of love within our hearts, is where you still belong.
Loved and remembered alway by his 6 daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private cremation was held on Tuesday.
